Robert Grant

The Apple That Falls

closest to the tree

has the most, the

deepest bruises.

Robert Grant came back to a life of reading and writing poetry in 2013, shortly after the birth of his second child, at a time when his world was temporarily shrinking and he needed new arrangements of words to name and express how he was feeling about exhaustion, fear, tenderness, joy, discouragement, mortality, responsibility, expectations, dreams... Poetry was both a salve and a portal. Still is.
